HydraFacialTM is a new breakthrough in aesthetic technology. HydraFacial takes its name from the root word "hydrate": "to cause to take up moisture." This ability to moisturize the skin is what separates HydraFacial from all other skin resurfacing procedures. A HydraFacial treatment removes dead skin cells and impurities, while simultaneously bathing the new skin with cleansing, hydrating, and moisturizing serums. The treatment is soothing, refreshing, non-irritating, and immediately effective. The HydraFacial machine, manufactured by Edge Systems, uses a patented, proprietary process that resurfaces the skin while simultaneously introducing topically-applied serums for deep cleansing, exfoliating, extracting, hydrating, and antioxidant purposes.

A HydraFacial treatment is safe and effective for all skin types and all ages. Even the most sensitive skin easily tolerates a HydraFacial treatment. Each treatment is fast, efficient, non-invasive, and painless. A treatment can take as little as 15 minutes or as much as 45 minutes. There is definitely no discomfort during the procedure - indeed, it has been described as feeling like "a cool paintbrush moving slowly over the face" - and involves absolutely no downtime.

Dr. Howard Murad, M.D., an associate clinical professor of dermatology at UCLA has spent the last 30 years studying skin aging. He believes that proper hydration is the foundation of healthy, radiant skin - indeed, hydration truly is the essence of life. Dr. Murad has said: "When our cells are not fully hydrated, they cannot function at their optimal level. This leads to much of the tissue damage that we call aging. You need to repair the tissues in your body that are losing [water]…, utilizing [products and procedures] that encourage healthy cell turnover." HydraFacial is a hydrating and non-irritating treatment that helps provide the foundation for healthy skin and decrease the signs of aging.

A HydraFacial treatment may involve the use of "LED Light Therapy." Light therapy is the application of light energy to the skin for therapeutic benefits. It is a natural photochemical reaction similar to the process of plant photosynthesis. NASA's space program has proven that LED (Light Emitting Diodes) light therapy (using near-infrared) promotes wound healing and human tissue growth. Red/Infrared light enhances cellular metabolism, accelerates the repair and replenishment of damaged skin cells, and stimulates the production of collagen, the foundation of a smooth and healthy skin. Blue light affects certain bacteria which cause acne, thereby reducing the incidence of acne and improving oily or acne-prone skin. Together, the red and blue LED lights work to produce healthy-looking - and healthy-feeling - skin.

A HydraFacial treatment is simple, relaxing, and, most important, effective. Many people report seeing visible skin refinement and an even, radiant skin tone after just a single HydraFacial treatment. Your skin care professional may even custom-blend the treatment serums for your unique skin conditions. The smooth results and hydration may last for five to seven days, or even longer. A series of at least six treatments, one treatment a week for six weeks, is recommended for improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and oily or acne-prone skin. After your first series of treatments, you may want to maintain your results with a HydraFacial treatment every two to four weeks.
